The Value of Regular Eye Checks
No matter how well we take care of our eyes, we cannot guarantee that we will not suffer from eye diseases. Therefore, it is important that a complete eye care programmer should include regular visits to your ophthalmologist for eye examinations.
Many eye diseases start off undetected and only show themselves in their advanced stage. Glaucoma is one good example. Many systemic diseases, such as diabetes and hypertension, can silently damage the eyes without your knowing it till the diseases have progressed to their advanced stage.
When you visit your ophthalmologist, test such as eye pressure measurements, slit-lamp bio microscopy and fundoscopy will be conducted to detect any early eye disease. He will also screen for eye complications associated with medical problems.
Therefore, have your eyes checked regularly. Early detection and treatment can save your eyesight.
Contact Lens Wearer Guide
1. Wash your hands thoroughly. It's best to allow them to air dry because drying off with a towel could deposit tiny fibers on your hands that will cause problems.
2. Open the right eye lens case and use your index finger to scoop the lens out.
3. Place the lens on your index finger. Rinse the lens carefully with solution. If it folds down, just push it back up with your other index finger. Make sure the lens is right side out. The edges of the lens should curve inward not out.
5. Place the contact lens on your eye and release your lower lid. Blink your eye to adjust the lens.
6. Repeat this process with the left eye. Once finished, clean out the contact case and refill with fresh solution.
- Congratulations! You just put on your contact lens! -
